Gottfredson's

February 17, 2013

Here is what I know about the Gottfredson's.

Happy Birthday Lynn!
It was Lynn's birthday last Sunday, Feb. 10.

I can't believe it's been a year since Cheryl passed away.  Miss you Cher!!

Kaitlyn came home from her mission in Calgary!

Welcome Home Kaitlyn!!

Here is Ben's latest letter from Florida.  I love reading his letters!

***Here is Ben's email for the week. I will paste the questions at the bottom so that his answers(1-7)  will make more sense. Matt took a picture just like one that Ben had taken a few years ago.  His hair is big and he is wearing a white tank like a picture of the wolverine.  He asked Matt to send him red dirt because he misses it and he is talking about a gold tie he sent back home to Nate. I hope the rest of it makes sense.

Family!!!!!
Your Emails are always the best!!! I can't even start to tell you! I love you guys so much!!! I love hearing the news about the Warriors!!! Gotta focus in now!!! 17 boards is by far the most impressive stat of the year!!! Man I hope you are having the time of your life!!! I'm about as proud as it gets man!!!
Matt that picture of you like wolverine is the best thing ever!!! I started bustin up in the library!!! Don't worry bout the dirt dude its all good!!! I love you so much man and tell everyone what a stud you are!!!
I love you all and miss you so much!!! That Valentine's box was the nicest thing!!! Anything from you guys is GOLD!!! It was so nice and it was also nice to read all the nice notes from Uncle Darrin to the Parr's to Todd Smith hahahaha! Please thank them and thank everyone!!! It means a lot, really.
The tie just had to be a family heirloom. I love that tie but it needs to be worn tomorrow on game day!!! I would have been selfish to keep it to myself. Matt you will have your chance to wear it too!
That is pretty sweet to hear that Best signed with DSU!!! I love it man we'll have some fun together!
This week has been a pretty awesome week! Probably the best one yet! I'm tempted not to tell you this just cause I know how happy it will make you. Until this week, I have been keeping my things very unorganized. Then basically Elder Patten told me I needed to organize my things and that that would help us and we saw miracles ever since. (at least I don't have to hear I told you so for a week)
Right after this we went to an address and knocked on the door. It was answered by this kid(Ryan) he was tatted up and, as I later found out, totally tweaked out on meth. Basically he was pretty crazy and yelled and told us to leave! Before he closed the door though we asked if we could come back, and, (being on meth), he said yes. The next day we went straight back and talked to him and he is actually a member of the church!!! I asked if he had any drugs left and he said yes and so I said lets get rid of them. So we went outside and I took his meth pipe and chucked it on the ground and I stomped it to pieces. Then I watched him take his crystals and wash them down the disposal. Long story short we're helping him repent and he's 18 and when he found out I was 18 he said he wants to serve a mission. He came to the ward bonfire and we are going to help him best we can stay away from drugs and stuff. We've had lots of awesome experiences from finding people in random places to being chased off property! It sucks but Elder Patten is a stickler on the one hour rule or else I'd tell you everything.
1. We drive the car all the time. We get 675 miles per month. (not very many) I'll probably start driving next week.
2.The chain fell off. Everything is fine now.
3. 24. He's awesome! Really we get along well!!! We disagree sometimes like for example now with the one hour rule but we do really well. He gets stressed just cause he wants to make sure he's training me right. We have different priorities occasionally but honestly he's a blessing.
4. Maybe send scripture cases for those scriptures. It was funny because right after I told you not to send Book of Mormons our supply of Book of Mormons ran out and turns out it takes a lot longer to get them than I thought.
5. LOVED THE BOX!!!! YOU GUYS rock!! Send mail to mission home. They forward it and won't lose it.
6. Usually the church or library.
7. Rules of music is its in line with the spirit. It's crazy how fast Josh Groban can go from least favorite to very favorite!
I think maybe the reason Nate is so successful is because he realizes now that a mission is more important than a state championship! The lord will bless him for that!!! That's pretty awesome to hear about Mason and Spencer what studs! What two guys will make better missionaries than them!!!
I love you guys more than anything in the world!!! Let me know if I can do anything for you!!!
Elder Gottfredson

***Moms questions for the week
1. Dad wants to know if you ever get to drive the car?
2. He also wants to know what trouble you had the first day with the bike?
3. I am curious if Elder Patten turned 24 or 25? Tell us something else about him. Or about how you two get along.
4. Tell us about your investigators? Aida and her kids. Any New gators. How can we help?
5. Did you get your Valentine Box yet? Do you get your mail from the mission home or do they forward your boxes through the mail?
6. Where do you use the computer to email? Library, Internet cafe, mission home? Do you have to pay or is there a limit on how much time you can be on the computer?
7.What are the mission rules about music. I would love to send some, but want to make sure you are obeying all the rules so you get all the blessings. :-)

At 6'7", Nate is really banging up the boards in basketball!  His team is in the state tournament.  I even saw one reporter's prediction that Snow Canyon will go to the finals, but lose there.  Well, Nate, I hope you make it to the finals, but win!  Go Nate!!

Nate's next game is Thursday against Ben Lomond.  Good luck Nate!
