Ben 4/8/13

FAM,

CONFERENCE WAS AWESOME! How come you guys didn't make me watch it more when I was home??? I will never forget how conference can change our lives. While sitting in the priesthood session, I was overwhelmed with the spirit. My thoughts were turned back to six months ago when I had such tender moments with each of you. I remember just being so happy and it really didn't sink in for a while. I love you guys so much. I remembered seeing Brother M. at the priesthood session in St. George and just being overwhelmed. From the time I was a kid, maybe 11 years old, I can remember sitting watching the BYU Utah game and he would just tell me out of no where, that someday I was going to be a great missionary. I remember when I was twelve and he was my young men's president, he told me I was going to be a great missionary. At a youth conference, he bore testimony and witnessed of Jesus Christ. And as a bishop in his office, he told me many things I hold sacred, about the role I would have in Gods kingdom, and taught me by the spirit what I needed to do. Council I wish I would have followed closer. Then I remember hugging him in that priesthood session. We had seen Gods hand. What amazing experiences I will never forget. I would really like his address please.

The night before conference, we prayed earnestly for all our investigators. We prayed they would have spiritual ears to hear the words of a prophet. We prayed for the speakers, that they would have the words to speak to our investigators, who we had all write down their questions and things they were going through.

Our prayers were answered.

I was sitting next to one of our investigators, who just got out of a messy divorce, in the first session of conference. (My favorite sessions were the first, the last, the priesthood, Sat afternoon, Sunday morning, in that order.) She has more been listening to us just for educational purposes more, or so she thought. With her questions written down, and taking notes, I saw feel the spirit so strong in the first couple talks, but when sister Dalton's turn came, it was over. She fell apart and started shaking and sobbing uncontrollably. After the talk she had to run to clean up her makeup. I felt the spirit. I know my prayers were heard and answered because they were earnest and sincere. Lives were changed this weekend, mine not an exception. My experience is changed significantly.

Some things I learned that will change my life: "Peace is not just the lack of war and contention, Peace is knowing our heavenly father is aware of us." Quentin L Cooks talk was outstanding on how to gain peace in this life. He said of us missionaries: "We are taking the restored Gospel of Peace to the world." Restoration should bring peace.

"Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief." Jeffery R Holland is my favorite speaker because he speaks with the power of God. We can help our investigators and members to hold the ground they already do have, and we can help ourselves gain faith by the profound doctrines taught.

I thought it was outstanding when Boyd K Packer said "Though my body is crumpled, my priesthood still remains." What an awesome first speaker a month after a pope retires.....

Dean M. Davies did a great job of tying in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Holy Ghost, Enduring) with the plan of salvation. Those are the blueprints of our lives. It will help to study his words to teach.

It will change my mission because it strengthened my testimony of living prophets and apostles. I now better understand the priesthood, obedience, and my purpose. We can use these talks today to teach people boldly, because we are promised that this revelation is for the entire world today. What better material to tie in along with the lessons than the words of these general authorities. I am humbled by what I heard yesterday. This conference, along with last conference which allows me to be here, will always be precious and sacred to me.

1 yes i used it to send the package, I think that's all.
2. I need razor heads. 2 or three pairs of athletic socks and 2 or 3 pairs of church socks. Turns out you're not supposed to wash colors in bleach. Why didn't you tell me that? Oh I also need music. Just refer back to old emails for what i want. I need speakers and mp3 though please.
3. Mothers day.... evening for me I would guess. Probably afternoon for you. When is church for you??? My church is at 730 your time. I have no idea they haven't given us details. I am excited to talk to you!!!

Yesterday my bike broke. I bent a rim. I'm going to see elder gebs tomorrow and get it fixed hopefully. It might be on the debit card but I'll make sure its the cheapest option. Cool thing was we got a really cool contact out of it! Danny stopped to help us and he said he wants to hear the gospel.

Also, the raccoons living under our house were overtaken by possums and cats.

Also, Elder F. cuts hair and gave me a Puerto Rican hair cut today... Basically a fancy buzz... Definitely new.

That's pretty sweet you posted up on those boys Nate!!! Where are you gonna play in college? I'm glad you watched conference man you're gonna make a way better missionary than me. The one thing about you guys I can hardly give you gospel advice. You already live much better than me already.
