Aaron 5/13/13

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all are still doing well! Though I doubt much has changed since last night when I talked to you! I'm pretty sure I've said so already, but everything here has gotten super GREEN! The days are (mostly) sunny and warm, and we're mowing more and more lawns for service. One less active sister in the ward hasn't mowed all year, so her grass is already turning into a hay field over two feet deep. We're having a lot of fun trying to get that cleaned up.

This past week has been really awesome! We've been preparing for this weekend, where we will be having two baptisms. One for our investigator David and one for a 9 year old girl named Kiley. We tracted into David the last Sunday in March (I believe) and we have seen so many MIRACLES with him! As soon as he recognized the witness from the Spirit that the Gospel is true, he immediately (He's now 36). In that time since we met him, he has read all of Gospel Principles, the Teachings of the Prophets- Lorenzo Snow, and is halfway through Alma in the Book of Mormon already! He is truly one of those prepared to receive the Gospel and to ACT on what they know!

The past couple weeks for P-Day I've been able to try something very new.. Golfing. Haha! Our Ward Mission Leader, Brother Stevens, used to own a driving range in our area, and decided to "hook us up" with the new owner to let us hit as many balls as we wanted! Both of the last 2 P-Days we were able to go with other missionaries from our District there and spend a couple hours on the driving range. I'd say I'm not doing terrible for being a complete beginner! Though the blister on my left hand may say otherwise.. :)

The mission is getting ready for all the huge changes happening with all the new missioniaries coming out! This last transfer 24 new Elders and Sisters came out, and we're starting to double up on missionaries per ward. The Mt Vernon ward in our district just got two sister missionaries, one of whom is training the other, and it's awesome to see the work progress up there already! It'll be interesting when more wards are being doubled up!

I've been reading in the New Testament for personal study, and my testimony on the Savior and his original apostles has been growing incredibly! I feel a sense of closeness with Him, that I've never before felt, and my desire to follow him and be his servant has increased so much. Being his representative to those here in The Ohio builds my faith every day as I get to see lives change and the Gospels influence in the lives of others! I love my Savior, and I know that the work I am doing is true. I know that He lives, and helps me each and every day, for myself, and even more so for the people here I am maent to find and teach.

I love you all so much, and thank you for your prayers, support, and desire to help to progress this marvelous work!

Elder Aaron Toombs
