***Here is Ben's Email. They are definitely getting shorter, but I have been told by a reliable source (DHL) that it is a good sign that Ben is busy working. He talks about Nate's basketball game against Thurl Bailey's son. He also thanks the youth for a missionary care package they sent him. He answers a few of my questions about how his thanksgiving was, if he got an exercise band we mailed him, if he got his Christmas box yet, and about a family from his first area that we are going to lunch with when we drive up to Logan this week. We asked him if he had to pay $15 for the hamburger or if he ate it and got it free. (Of course he ate it.) He talks a little about Nate's sore ankles that are slowing him down in basketball and then he gives us a little rap about the boys. ENJOY!!!!
Hey fam!!!
Wow! I cannot believe it's December!!! This is going by wayyyy too fast! Thank you eternally for your letters this week!!! I think thankful letters are the best kind. I started laughing out loud when I read about Jenkins and Thurl Baileys son! Get em Chase!!! I wish I was there to help him! Dads comment about Wes and Thurl dukin' it out is even funnier! Hahaha oh man! It was so nice to hear from the ward! All the notes were so nice and the picture of the youth was great! Everyone looks so old/young! Tell them thank you so much!!! It was great and of course my favorite was my letters from you four!
1.Thanksgiving was great!!! I am up well over 240 pounds! I have eaten turkey everyday straight for 8 days now! Yes before thanksgiving! At least I'm not starving right! I think it's good because I'm doing a decent job at maintaining, so I'll be able to turn it in to refined muscle when I have real time to dedicate attention to that!
2.Yes I got the band!!! Thanks a ton! It's exactly what I wanted and I think it's helping already!
3.No yet! But I'm excited!!! haha
4.Just tell them thanks a million from me and tell them they were sooo great to work with! I really appreciate them! It's fun you get to meet someone from my mission!!!
5.Of course I ate it.
That kills me to hear about your ankles man!!! I hope everything gets better soon! I guess what I would do is just seedujuan and pop ibuprofen. If it stays I've heard of like cortisone shots. Think Rocky balboa thoughts! Maybe Practice til Christmas break and then over the holiday instead of running swim laps at sand hollow or something! Whatever is going to work to get that ring!!! Good job continuing the hotseat! Also how is LBJ doing by the way?! Do you get my raps? Here is the latest verse for you.
My brother Nate, you know he holdin' down the fort
Brownie say "He the best playa in the state" on the news report
Jenkins and Jake thrown the alley opp
and Lil bro bring down the hoop
Fans all cheer when he do the slam
And Gates say "I love when he jam"
That's the dream, he got the high school funk
But in the waters of baptism he'll learn to really dunk
Matt say, let me list of my chicks,
Me and losing we just don't mix
I'm a beast on the line, I own the field
In my wake I leave all the flyers I've killed
He go too hard, it's it his blood
Soon he'll understand his royal priesthood
He preparing now, to bring about Salvation
By the power of the spirit he gonna thrash the Nations
You guys are all so great! We did a lot of finding this week and this week should be a lot of teaching.
Makenzy is getting baptized Friday. We should have a few more in December. Then start of the new year right. The people here are amazing. The teachings of the savior are Powerful to read. ***Here is the letter to his mission President ***
You ask me to share my companions best quality! That is a tall order because of all of the growth we have seen lately! I would say Elder Ferrin's best asset is that he loves others and he loves the Savior! You will find Elder Ferrin eating quicker so he can read the scriptures and learn more about Jesus Christ. I can gauge how our day will go by the sincerity of his morning prayer. He is sincere and humble and always shares his gratitude for one more day to serve God. He treats people kind and helps meet their needs in a soft spoken way. He is great! I am excited to see him tear it up even more this next transfer!
Love,
Elder Gottfredson
