***Here is Ben's Email. He is talking to Nate about losing the basketball game against Enterprise. UGH!!! He is telling him not to dwell on it. (I just wanted you to know Nate did not sin or anything... he just lost a ball game.) Our stake had Elder Jeffrey R Holland come to speak this weekend so he talks about him a little. Matt made the basketball team and had to get allergy testing. He is allergic to Peas, all beans, oat, and soy. Ben is a District Leader now. He did not tell us, we just got a letter from his mission President. The letter to his mission President at the end is great! He sounds good! Only 9 days until we get to Skype with him. Enjoy!***
Hey Fam!!!
I can't believe nine days til Christmas!!! What a great week! Nate I'm gonna tell you a parable: There once was a missionary who prided himself in being exactly obedient. He never broke a rule until one day by accident he slept in for 5 minutes, he felt so terrible that it bothered him for weeks and instead of it helping him he became so discouraged that he gave up and slept in more---- well you get the idea. Alma I think said to his son Somewhere between Alma 38-42 "don't let your sins trouble you except with that trouble that will bring you to repentance". I had already marked a W on the schedule, but don't let it bug you unless it's going to drive you to win. Beat PineView and it's over. Who is slackin off on the team?!?! Don't be afraid to get in their face. Don't let it be you. You are doing good man!!! I know you'll take state!!! I pray for it every night man!!! # 1 fan remember?!!!!
I got the second box!!!!! I love you so much!!! You went above and beyond to make my Christmas the best! You make all the missionaries that come in our apartment feel like Orphans!!! Best Mommy award!!! hahaha! My favorite is definitely the picture tree!
Did you shake Elder Hollands hand?!?!!? Lucky!!!! I have pictures of him up all over my room!!! Hero status!!! His last Mormon message is on the AZ Strip where me and Nate and my buds had our last hurrah. His Mormon message: good things to come is in the shadow of the red mountain! Oh ya Mateo!
Life has been good!!! I'm just soaking it all in and working hard! So many people that have changed my life! Matt! Congrats on making the team! I'm sorry you have allergies! I love Beans These days!!!
Listen I love you all so much! Eat a Western Bacon Cheeseburger for me dad!!! I love you all TONS!!! Win games and Merry Xmas
***Letter to President Berry***
This week I was able to go on an exchange in Cocoa. I felt prompted to have Elder Monsen come work with Elder Ferrinin Titusville so he can get the area down and how to run it. The Cocoa Elders are a blessing to have in the district. They are young enough that the sky is still the limit! If you're green your growing, if you're ripe you're rotting. A lot of raw energy to work with! We worked on finding the right commitments for people and really connecting some dots on how to help people progress. We also worked a lot on time management and how to best fulfill the key indicators. What great missionaries we have there, let me tell you the area is almost ready to POP! It's a nice middle class area thirsty for the gospel! It was almost reminiscent of Titusville when I was transferred here. What a blessing it was for me and my companions and I know that these two missionaries in Cocoa are the right two for the challenge and it is truly exciting to watch them make things happen!
My gift to the Savior. Wow, that's something to think about. I think my answer is simple and typical, to try to have a selfless Christmas is the best gift you can give to the savior. I hope I can take that extra time to pray to my heavenly father. I think he wants to hear from us more than usual at Christmas time just like our families. I also have a goal to make everyone in this town smile this Christmas season. That can be my gift to the Savior.
Elder Gottfredson
