Ben 10/21/13

***Here is Ben's letter. He gets to stay in Titusville and train another "Son".  He is excited. He will be there until mid January. I have included the letter to his mission President and some of the scriptures he refers to at the end of his letter.  Enjoy***

Hey Family!!!

Wow!!! Yet again just another great week to be a part of the work!!! Our prayers were answered!!! I was called to train another son!!! Elder Harman is headed off tomorrow to be companions with his great grandpa- the missionary that trained Elder Patten!  Anyways,  this means I will get another 3 months in Titusville!!! Hallelujah!!!  So I'll be here til mid January! Through the holidays! What a blessing!!! That means I'll spend 7 1/2 months here and more than half my mission in 2 areas! It's exciting!!! Life is just exciting!!! I love the pictures of my brothers and I really appreciate the letters!!!  I definitely have been thinking of Grammy today on her birthday!
It's super sad to be leaving Elder Harman! I mean I've been with him his whole life!!! It's been the most successful and happy time of my mission! He will do so great though!!! I'm proud of the way my brothers are playing football! I love to read the articles!!! Good win last week and tough loss this week! You know how I hate D Hills! Especially Franke!  Gotta beat Dixie and Get to state!!!  I love the picture by the way!
Be sure to pray for the Gonzolez fam, Kevin, Sarah, Jo, Derrick, Joe, Patrick and Susan C.. They all have dates.  Also pray for Ben and Jaicee B. and Robyn and Gene and Debbie. We look to set them dates this week as well as others. We have seen a lot of miracles and most of all pray for my new son. Pray that he can have the spirit to be just what these great people need.  The work goes forward with your prayers!!!  If you want to study how to help a new missionary really get root and be spiritually self sufficient you can in Alma 32: 38 I believe and Also Luke 8 around the teen verses. "bring forth fruit one hundred fold" but we can't have the cares of this world!!! Luke 8 and Alma 32 would be great material for family home evening tonight!!! Try to relate it to being or training a new missionary (Alma 32: 28) I hope all four of you especially Nate and Matt are living in a way and have studied Preach My Gospel enough to where if you were called to an area tomorrow you could be productive for the Lord.  Nate-It might be hard to track the ST George missionaries down! But I expect you to find them and go out with them! Especially in the spring.  Home and Visiting teaching should be 100%!  There is a simple truth I love that I teach members to help them do their missionary work. "If you are not doing missionary work, you do not have a gospel-centered home."  The prophet Joseph said "After all that has been said the greatest duty is to _____"  tweet?  Study? video games? not even football? Preach the Gospel!!!  It's simple. Help and invite others to access the atonement.  Whenever you help someone feel true happiness you are doing just that!  I know you guys are doing great! Again I am so grateful for your love and examples!!! You are the best!
I love you guys so much! It's crazy to see how the Lord has blessed me so much! Nothing just for sure until the baptism by fire but I really hope we can help this whole town make some serious covenants in the next three months! I love everything about this place! I love everything about the gospel!!! It's perfect! It's good to finally have my priorities straight!
I'm going to try and write you all later on!!! I love you tons!!! More than anything!!!
Elder Gottfredson

President Berry,

I think we accomplished some really good things this transfer. Right now we are trying to take Elder Dube's advice and not look at how much we've accomplished, but at how much work there is still to be done!!! I think the most important thing we accomplished was turning Elder Harman into the Outstanding Missionary he is today! He is going to do really well in his next area! We also refined our lessons and extending commitments! This three months with Elder Harman has been some of the happiest and most fulfilling times of my life.

Elder Gottfredson
